Navigating the Cleanbox dashboard
The sidebar
The sidebar on the left side of the screen is your main navigation in Cleanbox. It organizes every feature into clearly labeled sections. Here is what you will find from top to bottom.
Team selector
At the very top left of the sidebar you will find the team selector. Click it to switch between teams you belong to or to create a new team. Everything you see in Cleanbox — aliases, messages, contacts — is scoped to the currently selected team.
Main sections
Dashboard
Your home screen. The Dashboard gives you an overview of recent email activity including a daily volume chart, your top senders, and a breakdown of message categories. Use it to get a quick sense of what is happening with your inbound mail.
Aliases
Create and manage your email aliases here. You can toggle aliases on or off, adjust individual spam thresholds, and copy alias addresses to your clipboard. This is where you control which addresses are active and how aggressively spam is filtered for each one.
Mailboxes
Connect your email accounts and manage virtual mailboxes. Mailboxes let Cleanbox pull in messages from your existing accounts so everything is visible in one place.
Messages
View every incoming message that Cleanbox has processed. Use the search bar and filters to find specific emails. Click any message to preview its content and inspect headers. This is your central hub for reviewing mail flow.
Quarantine
Messages held on suspicion of spam land here. Review each item and choose to release it to your inbox or delete it. Quarantined messages are automatically removed after 30 days, so check this section regularly.
Contacts
Every sender who has emailed you appears in Contacts. Cleanbox automatically categorizes contacts and lets you set a state for each one — whitelist, block, mute, or prioritize — to control how their future messages are handled.
Cloud
Browse and download attachments that Cleanbox has extracted from your emails. Files are organized by contact, making it easy to find that document someone sent you last week.
Configuration sections
Filters
Create rules that automatically sort, allow, or deny email based on conditions you define. Filters run on every incoming message so you can automate your mail workflow without lifting a finger.
Shield
Advanced protection tools live here. Set up rate limiting to cap how many emails a sender can deliver, configure delivery windows to control when mail arrives, and enable gatekeeper mode on specific aliases to manually approve new senders.
Intelligence
Fine-tune how Cleanbox classifies your email. Adjust AI classification sensitivity, manage Bayes training, and configure sender reputation settings. These controls let you teach Cleanbox what matters to you.
Domains
Add your own custom domains and verify them with DNS records. Cleanbox walks you through the required configuration so your domain is set up correctly.
Relay
Available on Advanced plans and above. Relay lets you set up inbound MX protection for your business domains, routing mail through Cleanbox before it reaches your mail server.
Account sections
Developer
Team owners can generate and manage API keys here for integrating Cleanbox with other tools and services.
Subscription
View and manage your current plan. Your plan badge is displayed here along with options to upgrade or change your subscription.
Team
Invite new members to your team, assign roles, and manage permissions. Control who has access to what within your Cleanbox workspace.
Helpdesk
Quick link to the Cleanbox knowledge base where you can find articles, guides, and answers to common questions.
Settings
Manage your personal profile settings including your name, email, and notification preferences.
Bottom area
At the bottom of the sidebar you will find two final elements:
- Usage widget — shows how many emails you have received this week compared to your plan limit, a timer until the counter resets, and a button to upgrade if you are approaching your cap.
- User profile — displays your avatar, name, and email address. Click it to access the logout button.
That covers every section of the Cleanbox sidebar. If you ever feel lost, the sidebar is always one click away on the left side of your screen.
