Enabling and configuring Cloud Storage
Cloud Storage automatically extracts and stores email attachments from your incoming messages, organized by contact. You can browse, preview, and download files at any time — no more digging through old emails to find that one invoice or document.
Enabling Cloud Storage
To get started with Cloud Storage:
- Go to Cloud in the sidebar
- Click the toggle at the top of the page to enable Cloud Storage for your team
- Once enabled, Cleanbox starts extracting attachments from all new incoming emails automatically
Cloud Storage only processes new emails received after you enable it. Existing emails are not retroactively processed.
Storage limits per plan
The amount of cloud storage available depends on your plan:
- Free — no cloud storage
- Personal — 1 GB
- Premium — 10 GB
- Advanced — 50 GB
- Enterprise — 200 GB
The progress bar on the Cloud page shows how much storage you’ve used and how much is remaining.
Per-contact storage control
Not every contact sends attachments you need to keep. Cloud Storage gives you fine-grained control over which contacts’ files are stored.
How it works
- On the Cloud page, each contact with stored files has a toggle next to their name
- Disable the toggle for contacts whose attachments you don’t need — for example, marketing senders with large images or newsletters
- Enable it for contacts whose files are important — for example, clients, suppliers, or anyone who sends invoices and documents
When you disable storage for a contact, new attachments from them are no longer stored. Any files that were already stored remain available.
Managing storage space
If you’re running low on storage, here are a few things you can do:
- Disable storage for high-volume, low-value contacts — this is the quickest way to stop your storage from filling up
- Upgrade your plan — if you need more space, upgrading gives you a higher storage limit
- Delete files you no longer need — keep in mind that attachments from deleted messages may still count toward your storage usage
Disabling Cloud Storage
If you no longer want to use Cloud Storage:
- Go to Cloud in the sidebar
- Click the toggle at the top of the page to disable Cloud Storage
- New attachments stop being stored immediately
Previously stored files remain available until you manually delete them. You can re-enable Cloud Storage at any time, and Cleanbox will resume extracting attachments from new incoming emails.
