The messages page: viewing, searching, and filtering email
The Messages page is your central hub for everything that flows through Cleanbox. Whether you need to check if an email was delivered, investigate a suspicious message, or re-send something that failed — this is where you start.
Accessing the messages page
Click Messages in the sidebar to open the messages page. You will see a chronological list of every email processed by Cleanbox across all your aliases and relay addresses.
Understanding the message list
Messages are grouped by date — Today, Yesterday, and then by specific date. Each row gives you a quick summary of the message at a glance:
- Sender name and email with the subject line
- Contact category (such as Shopping, Finance, Social, or others) if the sender has been categorized, or “Private” if not
- Destination address with a type indicator — A for alias or R for relay
- Spam score, color-coded for quick identification: green means clean, yellow means suspicious, and red means spam
- Time received
- Message size
- Status badge showing the outcome: Delivered, Denied, Rejected, Failed, Snoozed, Quarantined, or Bounced
Filtering by status
Use the status dropdown at the top of the page to narrow down what you see. You can select one or more statuses at the same time — for example, show only Quarantined and Failed messages to focus on items that need your attention.
Click Clear filters to reset the view and show all messages again.
Searching for messages
Use the search box to find messages by subject, sender name, or sender email address. The search works across all statuses, so you do not need to remove any active filters first.
Tip: if you are looking for a specific email, try searching for part of the subject line or the sender's name. This is often the fastest way to locate a message.
Message actions
Each message row includes action buttons that let you interact with individual messages:
- Preview — click to view the full message content, email headers, and any attachments
- Spam feedback — mark a message as spam or not spam to help train Cleanbox's filter and improve future accuracy
- Deliver / Forward — re-deliver a message that was previously blocked, or forward it to a different email address
Pagination
Messages are displayed 50 per page. When you have more messages than fit on a single page, use the pagination controls at the bottom to move between pages.
