Understanding your subscription and billing
Cleanbox subscriptions are managed through Stripe. You can view and change your plan from the Subscription page in the sidebar.
Billing basics
- Monthly billing — Charged on the same date each month
- Yearly billing — Charged once per year at a 30% discount compared to monthly
- You can switch between monthly and yearly at any time
- Payment is processed through Stripe (credit card)

Upgrading
When you upgrade:
- New limits take effect immediately
- You are charged the prorated difference for the remaining billing period
- All your existing aliases, filters, and settings are preserved
Downgrading
When you downgrade:
- The change takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- If you exceed the new plan's limits (e.g., you have 15 aliases but downgrade to a plan with 10), existing aliases are not deleted but you cannot create new ones until you are within the limit
- Features not available on the lower plan (custom domains, relay) become inaccessible but are not deleted — if you upgrade again, they reappear
Cancelling
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Subscription page. After cancellation:
- Your plan continues until the end of the paid period
- After that, your account reverts to the Free plan
- Aliases, contacts, and settings are preserved but subject to Free plan limits
Weekly email limit
The email counter in the sidebar shows how many emails you have received this week versus your plan's limit. The counter resets every 7 days. If you hit the limit, incoming emails are temporarily rejected until the counter resets.
