How to invite team members and manage permissions
Cleanbox supports team collaboration with granular permissions. You can invite colleagues, assign roles, and control exactly who can manage aliases, contacts, filters, and other features.
Team structure
Every Cleanbox account is organized around teams. When you register, a team is automatically created for you as the owner. You can:
- Invite other users to your team
- Create multiple teams (and switch between them)
- Control permissions per member
Roles
| Role | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control. Manages subscription, billing, API keys, and can delete the team. Only one owner per team. |
| Admin | Can invite and remove members, manage permissions. Cannot access billing or API keys. |
| Member | Access based on assigned permissions. Cannot manage other members. |
Inviting a team member
- Navigate to Settings
- Go to the Team section
- Click Invite member
- Enter their email address
- An invitation email is sent — the recipient can accept to join your team
Pending invitations are visible in the team settings. You can revoke an invitation before it is accepted.
Granular permissions
For each member, you can set read and write permissions per feature:
| Scope | Read access | Write access |
|---|---|---|
| Mailboxes | View connected mailboxes | Add, edit, delete mailboxes |
| Aliases | View aliases and stats | Create, toggle, delete aliases |
| Messages | View messages and spam reports | Deliver, forward, delete messages |
| Contacts | Browse contacts | Change states, unsubscribe |
| Filters | View filter rules | Create, edit, delete filters |
| Shield | View Shield settings | Configure limiter, snoozer, gatekeeper |
| Domains | View domains | Add, verify, delete domains |
| Relay | View relay settings | Configure relay addresses |
| Cloud | Browse stored files | Download, delete files |
API access and subscription management are restricted to the team owner only.
Audit logging
All team actions are logged: who changed what and when. You can review the activity history in your team settings to track changes made by any member.
Leaving or removing members
- Remove a member — Admins and owners can remove any non-owner member from the team settings.
- Leave a team — Members and admins can leave a team voluntarily. Owners must transfer ownership before leaving.
- Transfer ownership — The owner can transfer the owner role to another member from the team settings.
