Switching between teams and managing workspaces
Cleanbox supports multiple teams per user account. Each team is an independent workspace with its own aliases, mailboxes, contacts, filters, and settings. This is useful for separating personal and business email, or managing multiple clients.
How teams work
- Resources (aliases, mailboxes, contacts, messages, filters, Shield, domains, relay, cloud) belong to a team, not to your user account
- When you switch teams, you see a completely different set of data
- Your user settings (password, timezone, 2FA) are per-account and follow you across teams
Switching teams
- Click the team avatar in the top-left of the sidebar
- Select the team you want to switch to
- The dashboard refreshes with that team's data
The currently active team is shown with a checkmark.
Creating a new team
- Go to Team in the sidebar
- In the "Create a new team" section, enter a team name
- Click Create team
The new team starts with its own empty workspace. You will need to connect a mailbox and create aliases from scratch for the new team.
What is per-team vs per-user
| Per-team | Per-user |
|---|---|
| Mailboxes and aliases | Password |
| Contacts and categories | Timezone |
| Messages and quarantine | Two-factor authentication |
| Filters and Shield | Language preference |
| Domains and relay | Email address |
| Cloud storage | Name |
| Subscription plan | |
| API key |
Each team has its own subscription plan. Being a member of a Premium team does not give your other teams Premium features.
